[insert title here] is a collaborative partnership developed out of a joint panel presentation designed organized by Cheryl Simon for the English and Cultural Studies conference The Archive and Everyday Life at McMaster University in May 2010.
The collaborative partnership includes Carissa Carman, Jennifer Cherniack and Sabrina Russo. Together they share an interest in learning applied skills that will allow access to information and a location in which to create a site-specific relationship. In this instance, the artists re-purposed vinyl lettering design that is used to advertise the programming of the FOFA Gallery, examining how signage and didactic texts professionalize, frame, and sometimes become part of, the works.
