Household Affairs is a work/labor/home collaboration where four artists who were living and working together in an underpaid glorious artist opportunity internship. In collaboration they designed and created objects, scenarios, interventions and installations responding to the desire to build beauty into home and bring community to mundane work life of manual labor. In a response to craft, home repair skills, maintenance work, and home making, each artist constructed their work uniform. The performance occurred throughout their work day and the final installation took place in their temporary home, where visitors snooped only through doors unmarked with hotel- like do not disturb signs, bringing curiosity into a funny invasion of privacy of home.
