SITE Lab > Cleo turns 50

The Cleo Rogers Memorial Library, designed by I.M. Pei in 1969, is being celebrated this year in the 50th anniversary of the library. SITE Lab seeks to bring light to and acknowledge the details, oddities and negotiations of how this structures and site exist.

The historical preservation elements are yet to be uncovered: the conversations and strategies that lead up to decisions of the windows, the red room shape and color, the placement of the corridors, measurements, material samples. location of light and strategies of mapping out entrances and exists.

Through the experience of working with a preservation expert I am gathering information of pattern and circumstance to stage a temporal performance that is directly shaped by the findings. The result is a multi-faceted experience that enlivens the archives into movements and forms of action and color.
