SITE Lab > Highway 46 Revisited

How does stepping outside of the studio to develop innovative works within collaboration with others and with non-artist affiliations or locations help to build rigor into your practice and expand your conceptual framework for exploring ideas?

Using curatorial strategies, site information and the archive, Carman delves into an exploration of the expansiveness of artist practice and the art of portable cloth that activates landscapes. This current project relates to place-based investigation and archival practice that Carman infuses into her recent collaborations to investigate how the collection of daily objects in one’s environment as place, and how the activation of color of forms and soft sculpture can provide a changing seasonal wonderment.
