2012

Walking Backwards is the process chosen by the artist to provoke questions of our natural and efficient forward-movement, its impact on the perception and use of the city spaces, as well as on city dwellers’ interactions. What is anticipated to be perceived as a rather awkward behavior - 20 days of backwards walking in the rather small perimeter of San Augustin - will generate curiosity and questions from the inhabitants.

Resourcing the town with this directional malfunction will be unpredictable and provide a constant undercurrent to daily routes. In order to deeper her exploration of the city, the artist will rely on an ongoing communication on various levels in cooperation with the inhabitants.
